Zelenskyy and Regional Leaders Gather in Ukraine for Carpathian Eight Summit

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hosted the inaugural Carpathian Eight summit aimed at deepening regional cooperation, while overnight Russian strikes caused casualties and infrastructure damage in various regions.

Carpathian Eight Summit Begins

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed leaders and representatives of seven countries in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Western Ukraine to increase regional cooperation. The first summit of the Carpathian Eight brings together Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Poland, Slovakia, Czechia, Austria, and Hungary.

Scope and Objectives of the Summit

It was stated that the participating countries will work together on security, energy, logistics, cross-border economic ties, and support for local communities. Zelenskyy stated that the summit is an important start to strengthen ties between countries and build cooperation at the EU level.

Overnight Air Strikes

Two people lost their lives and two others were injured in the Zhytomyr region due to attacks carried out by Russia during the night hours. The Emergency Service reported that the attacks caused fires in warehouses and production buildings, and firefighting teams intervened.

Damage in Zaporizhzhia and Other Regions

In another drone attack carried out in Zaporizhzhia, a shopping complex was destroyed and one person was injured. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that numerous Ukrainian drones were intercepted by air defense systems during the night.
