17 strategic technology projects approved in Vietnam
As part of strategic technology development efforts in Vietnam, 17 projects have been approved, with a target to approve at least 20 tasks by October 2026.
During a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, it was announced that 17 strategic technology projects have been approved in Vietnam, with the goal of approving at least 20 tasks by October 2026.
According to the report by the Ministry of Science and Technology, under the Prime Minister's Decision No. 808/QD-TTg dated June 5, 2026 on Determining Strategic Technology Development Tasks, 29 task proposals were received from 9 ministries and agencies. Evaluations showed that 23 tasks met the criteria while 6 did not. As of October 19, ministries and agencies have approved 17 projects with a total budget exceeding 2,319 billion VND.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized at the meeting regarding the progress of strategic technology development tasks that they aim to complete the approval process for the remaining tasks by October 2026 and to approve at least 20 tasks.
