AI Move from Siemens and NVIDIA at Facility in Germany
Siemens and NVIDIA are testing autonomous production processes with artificial intelligence and digital twin technologies at their manufacturing facility in Erlangen.
Siemens and NVIDIA utilize artificial intelligence and digital twin technologies to accelerate the commissioning of production in autonomous applications and provide adaptable production planning.
Within the scope of the cooperation announced at the CES fair in Las Vegas in January 2026, production processes are being transformed at the Siemens facility in Erlangen, Germany. By combining NVIDIA's artificial intelligence, simulation, and accelerated computing technologies with Siemens' industrial software and automation expertise, new solutions were developed in less than 10 months.
These developed technologies can reduce engineering workload by up to 85 percent and time to market by up to 40 percent in printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies. Additionally, thanks to artificial intelligence agents, cost savings of up to 20 percent are targeted in production planning.
Siemens AG Management Board Member Cedrik Neike stated that an annual efficiency increase of 7 percent is achieved at the Erlangen facility, while NVIDIA Vice President Rev Lebaredian expressed that these efforts establish a model for global autonomous factories.
