Anthropic Previews Personal AI Assistant Claude Duet

Anthropic on Wednesday announced a preview of Claude Duet, a new AI agent designed to rival Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots assistants. Developed with a focus on small businesses and professionals, the tool can perform tasks such as sending daily digests, tracking connected apps, creating dashboards, scheduling meetings, and generating financial forecasts.

Claude Duet presents users with items that require attention, completes requested tasks, continues working even when the user steps away, and seeks approval before taking action on their behalf. The company noted that because the focus is on the workplace, personal tasks such as booking tickets are not yet as robust. It was stated that the assistant in preview might misread a thread or miscalibrate urgency.

While a waitlist has been opened for the preview process, eligible users can gain access via a standalone app or the Claude website. Claude Duet is currently available to Pro and Max subscribers during the preview period.
