Anthropic Report: Workforce Becomes More Senior, Meetings Increase
According to a report published by artificial intelligence company Anthropic, the company's workforce has begun to consist of fewer junior employees, and human oversight has become a productivity bottleneck.
Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has published a report showing that its workforce structure and business processes have changed significantly over the past year. Stating that it has shaped its workflows around artificial intelligence, the company argued that workforce trends could serve as an indicator of how business organization in the economy will be affected.
According to the report, the proportion of junior employees in technical departments dropped from 21% to 14% since the beginning of 2025, while the drop in junior hiring fell from 27% to 9%. While the share of technical teams in the total workforce declined from 61% to 56%, the company attributed this to the growth of business functions and the fact that non-technical employees can also produce software thanks to coding tools.
In an April 2026 survey, 27% of employees stated that they became more productive thanks to Claude, while 20% expressed that their work shifted from actually performing tasks to managing Claudes. The report revealed that human attention and judgment have turned into a bottleneck for productivity, with calendar data showing that meeting time per employee increased by 20% compared to the previous year.
