The AXA Turkey Climate Report 2026, prepared in collaboration between AXA Climate and AXA Turkey, has been published. According to the report, by 2050, approximately 65 million people, representing 74 percent of Turkey's population, could face high or very high levels of water stress, while 23 million people could face heat stress.

Launched during Insurance Week with presentations by AXA Turkey CEO Yavuz Ölken and Yekta Kopan, the report identifies water scarcity, extreme heat, forest fires, floods, and landslides as prominent climate risks for the coming period. The research highlights the risks that climate change could create in Turkey across a wide range of areas, from water resources to agriculture, cities, and critical infrastructure.

The report also states that approximately 66 percent of the country's land could face significant water scarcity. AXA Turkey CEO Yavuz Ölken emphasized that this study makes the climate risks Turkey may face visible and highlighted that climate change is no longer a future scenario, but a risk area felt today.
