Valkyrie takes spotlight at American Family Field for World Series

Valkyrie, a 15-year-old bald eagle residing at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center in Wisconsin, will take part in the national anthem ceremony at American Family Field ahead of Game 1 of the World Series.

Sheltered at the nature center in Bayside and unable to survive in the wild due to being habituated to humans, Valkyrie will attend the ceremony accompanied by her handlers and will not be flown during the anthem. Lindsay Focht, the center's Raptor Program Director, stated that the eagle has a temperament suited for large events, noting that such participations increase visitor numbers and awareness for the nature center. The eagle previously appeared at the stadium during Game 1 of both the National League Division Series and the National League Championship Series.
