The bill prepared regarding certain investment funds decided to be liquidated will be addressed in the TBMM General Assembly this week. According to the regulation, investors with a net investment amount under 1 million Turkish Liras can be paid that full amount, while those with 1 million Turkish Liras and above can receive an interim payment of at most 1 million Turkish Liras.

The procedures and principles of liquidation processes are determined with the 'Bill on Certain Investment Funds Decided to Be Liquidated', which will be discussed in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey this week. In the liquidation processes to be carried out under the supervision and control of the Capital Markets Board (SPK), full payment will be made to investors whose net investment amount is below 1 million Turkish Liras in funds determined by the board. For those with investments of 1 million Turkish Liras and above, an interim payment opportunity of at most 1 million Turkish Liras will be provided. However, it was stated that no payment will be made to persons determined by the board to have acted together with the funds whose liquidation was decided by the SPK's decisions dated September 17, 2026.

Within the scope of the regulation, seizure decisions can be made in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure within the framework of investigations conducted due to actions connected with the funds. Regarding responsibility and recovery processes, the SPK will determine the damage or loss amount, responsible parties, and amounts, and report them to the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF). The amounts accumulated in the recovery account will be transferred by the TMSF to the organization tasked with liquidation or to the Investor Compensation Center after deducting mandatory expenses. The portfolio management company, which is primarily the founder or manager of the fund, will be held responsible for the damage or loss. Additionally, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz is planned to make a presentation on Wednesday at the TBMM Plan and Budget Committee regarding the budget and final accounts bill proposals.
