Journalist Gökhan Biçici and Political Analyst Selim Akmen evaluated BlackRock reducing its presence in Turkey and the Mecca Agreement on the parliamentary agenda.
In the Agenda Politics program, it was announced that global investment firm BlackRock reduced its investment weighting in Turkey from 11 percent to 5 percent. The program also addressed the political parties' stances regarding the Mecca Agreement, which has come to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), and MIT Undersecretary/Head İbrahim Kalın's foreign policy contacts.
According to the data shared in the program, BlackRock's significant reduction of its investments in Turkey drew attention. Political Analyst Selim Akmen evaluated this development as a lack of confidence in Turkey's current administration and its future.
In the process regarding the Mecca Agreement brought to the parliamentary agenda, differences of opinion were experienced among political parties. It was stated that while the CHP supported the agreement during the committee stage, the New Party, DEM Party, and Workers' Party of Turkey cast dissenting votes.
Under the foreign policy heading, MIT Head İbrahim Kalın's visit to Iran on a Saudi plane, together with the Saudi Minister of Defense and the Pakistani Chief of General Staff, was brought to the agenda.
