Turkmenistan Renews Healthcare Infrastructure with Artificial Intelligence and Nuclear Medicine
New child health and oncology centers under construction in Ashgabat are being equipped with smart hospital systems, AI-supported diagnostic software, and nuclear medicine technologies.
The International Center for Pediatrics and the International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center, currently under construction in Turkmenistan's capital Ashgabat, are preparing to provide services utilizing artificial intelligence and nuclear medicine technologies.
The final stages are approaching in two major projects aimed at digitizing the healthcare sector in Turkmenistan and bringing advanced medical technologies of the region into the country. Modern healthcare centers rising in the northern and southern parts of Ashgabat are being equipped with artificial intelligence-supported systems.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov inspected the ongoing work at the 5-story International Center for Pediatrics constructed in the southern part of Ashgabat. Featuring smart hospital characteristics, the facility will utilize artificial intelligence, endoscopic devices, and digital X-ray technologies in its diagnostic and treatment units. Additionally, patient wards will feature micro-climate rooms that automatically adjust air and temperature. Berdimuhamedov instructed that medical personnel be trained in new technologies and that the electronic medical data system be established rapidly.
The International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center, forming the second pillar of this healthcare initiative, is rising in the northern part of Ashgabat. The final works on this project were inspected by Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the People's Council. German medical experts who examined the facility stated that some high-tech devices to be housed in the center will be used in the region for the first time. The new oncology center will feature AI-supported early diagnosis software, nuclear medicine applications, advanced surgical units, and digital data systems integrating the hospital network.
