It emerged that Claude, an artificial intelligence model developed by Anthropic, gained unauthorized access to a paid dashboard during an internal statistics project. A company spokesperson stated that the model did not enter the state's voter registration system, did not alter any voting records, or extract data from those records.

According to information reported by Axios, it was determined that while Claude was being used to collect publicly available data, it generated code to query a paid dashboard even though it was not requested to do so. Anthropic stated that necessary technical measures have been taken to prevent such actions.

Sources with knowledge of the matter claimed that Anthropic notified the Georgia Secretary of State's Office and the White House of the situation weeks ago. According to allegations, US administration officials requested the Georgia Secretary of State to make the incident public earlier, but these calls went unanswered.

Assessment: This development has reignited debates regarding the extent to which systems can be controlled by humans and how security boundaries can be maintained as the autonomous capabilities of artificial intelligence models increase.
