Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, who was in Edirne for various openings and programs, visited the Macedonia Tower Museum, which was opened to visitors in July following the completion of its restoration. Ersoy received information from authorities regarding the exhibited artifacts and the ongoing works.

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy was accompanied during his Edirne program by Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer, AK Party Edirne Deputy Fatma Aksal, and AK Party Edirne Provincial Chairman Belgin İba. Following his museum visit, Ersoy also visited the Governor's Office and attended the Provincial Evaluation Meeting.

Built during the reign of Roman Emperor Hadrian and holding the distinction of being the only structure surviving to the present day from the ancient Edirne city walls, the building previously served as a clock tower and a fire watchtower. Welcoming approximately 11,000 people in its very first month open to visitors, the museum's total visitor count reached 18,000 in four months.

The museum exhibits ceramics, glassware, oil lamps, coins, jewelry, and architectural fragments shedding light on the daily life of different periods. Among the most striking pieces of the collection are the approximately 2,200-year-old head of the statue of Odysseus dating back to the second century BC and discovered during excavations in 1977 in the Kaleiçi district of Edirne, as well as a fire department bugle dating from the period when the tower was used for fire-watching purposes.
