New Provincial Public Library and Muradiye Mevlevihane Opened in Edirne

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy inaugurated the new Provincial Public Library, featuring an 8,812-square-meter indoor area and a capacity of 160,000 books, along with the restored Muradiye Mevlevihane in Edirne.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy attended the opening ceremonies of the newly constructed Provincial Public Library and the nearly five-century-old Muradiye Mevlevihane in Edirne. The five-story new library building has an indoor area of 8,812 square meters, a capacity of 160,000 books, and was designed to serve more than a thousand people simultaneously.

Additionally, a new area with a capacity of 30,000 works was created within the library for the Selimiye Manuscript Library. Speaking at the opening, Minister Ersoy emphasized that libraries will also provide a solution to screen addiction. Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer, AK Party Edirne Deputy Fatma Aksal, Edirne Mayor Filiz Gencan, and AK Party Edirne Provincial Chairman Belgin İba also attended the ceremony.
