Qutaiba Bedevi, Head of the Syrian General Customs and Border Crossings Authority, met with Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Syria, Ghazi bin Rafi Al-Enezi, in Damascus to discuss ways to strengthen economic and investment partnerships.
During the meeting held in Damascus, the development of seaports, free zones, and dry ports, as well as the strengthening of logistics connections, were discussed. The parties evaluated strategic investment plans, primarily the Al-Hamidiya Port Project and logistics projects in the Al-Tanf region.
The meeting aims to modernize customs procedures through digital transformation and to benefit from Saudi Arabia's experience in this field. Furthermore, it is intended to increase the efficiency of customs inspection systems through training and the sharing of technical expertise.
These cooperation steps, which aim to strengthen Syria's position as a regional logistics hub, are planned to facilitate the flow of goods and increase trade activity between the two countries. Qutaiba Bedevi had previously met with Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser on August 27 with a similar agenda.
