Designs for Yerevan World Trade Center Unveiled
The designs for the World Trade Center project to be realized in Yerevan have been announced; the project, which brings together offices, a hotel, and residences, targets LEED and WELL Gold certifications.
The architecture firm Foster + Partners has publicly announced the designs for the World Trade Center (WTC Yerevan) project to be built in Armenia's capital, Yerevan. The mixed-use project, featuring office, hotel, and residential units, aims to bring together the city's architectural heritage and its future.
Designed by Foster + Partners, the WTC Yerevan project brings together two distinct towers: an office building and a combined hotel and residential block. Connected at three points, the towers free up 50 percent of the site at ground level, allowing for public spaces and landscaped terraces. The project extends the axis of Diana Abgar Park, equipping the area with public squares and recreational spaces open to the community.
Located in a seismically active region, the towers feature a split-core structure offering flexible floor planning, concrete frames, and steel bracing. The project holds the distinction of being the first development in Armenia targeting LEED and WELL Gold certifications, and it has been designed to be net-zero ready. The orientation of the towers has been arranged to open up views of the Armenian National Assembly, the Opera and Ballet Theatre, Mount Ararat, and the Genocide Memorial.
