October polls conducted by Areda Survey and ASAL Research highlighted the social and political repercussions of the recent fund crisis. While a large majority of participants held the administration and regulatory institutions responsible for the crisis, confidence in the markets was measured at very low levels.

Who Bears Responsibility for the Fund Crisis

According to the research conducted by Areda Survey, a significant portion of the participants point to economic management and auditing mechanisms as responsible for the fund crisis.

According to the survey results, 42 percent of the public directly hold the economic management responsible for the crisis, while 24 percent find institutions that failed to fulfill their auditing duties responsible.

Trust in Financial Markets Has Dropped

The prevailing crisis environment has driven confidence in investment funds and the stock market down to minimum levels.

While the proportion of those stating they trust investment funds and the stock market in Turkey remained at a mere 5.1 percent, clear views also emerged regarding how losses should be compensated.

Expectation for Grievances to Be Addressed

Participants in the survey were also asked who should resolve the grievances caused during the crisis process.

A large majority of 67.5 percent of participants argued that the losses incurred should be covered by the fund managers and individuals who profited prior to this crisis.

Areda Survey October Preferences

In Areda Survey's October research measuring political tendencies, the ruling party continued to lose votes.

In the conducted poll, the AKP ranked first with 31.9 percent, while the New Party received 22.7 percent and the CHP 6.9 percent. Yusuf Akın stated that the AKP's votes declined by approximately 3 points compared to the previous month.

ASAL Research Election Poll Results

The vote shares of the parties were also shared with the public in ASAL Research's October election poll.

According to the survey results, the AKP ranked first with 31.6 percent, while the New Party reached 25.2 percent, the DEM Party 8.8 percent, the MHP 8.0 percent, and the İYİ Party 7.1 percent.
