Eka Robotics Reaches $1.45 Billion Valuation with $150 Million Series A Funding
Robotics startup Eka Robotics has raised $150 million in a Series A round led by a16z and F-Prime, reaching a valuation of $1.45 billion.
Robotics startup Eka Robotics, founded by MIT professor Pulkit Agrawal and former Google DeepMind researcher Tuomas Haarnoja, has completed a $150 million Series A funding round. Led by a16z and F-Prime, the round brings the company's post-money valuation to $1.45 billion.
Eka Robotics focuses on a manipulation architecture consisting of a force-sensitive gripper and a vision-force-action deep learning model to enhance robotic manipulation capabilities. Unlike traditional vision-language-action models, the company's approach emphasizes the relationship between force inputs and actions to solve the 'last millimeter' problem in robotic grasping.
The company is currently conducting undisclosed industrial pilot studies involving pick-and-place and wire manipulation tasks. Eka's gripper hardware is currently rated for 5 million operating cycles, with a long-term goal of reaching 20 million cycles to match standard industrial arms.
