A look at how employers are approaching AI-enabled benefits solutions

A new survey conducted in partnership with Aon and Define Ventures has shed light on how human resources and benefits leaders approach AI-powered solutions. According to the research involving 67 leaders from various sectors, 17% of participants already have live artificial intelligence applications in place.

According to the survey results, 30% of participants stated that they are evaluating AI deployments and setting this as a primary goal, though they have not yet reached an agreement with a vendor. The majority of this group cited privacy concerns as the primary reason for their reservations. Meanwhile, the proportion of those who rely more on their existing partners and are not searching for new vendors stood at 24%, while those stating they have no short-term AI plans but recognize its potential in improving employee experience was recorded at 20%. These leaders noted that potential costs and return on investment expectations of platforms slow down the adoption process.

Among the group already using AI-powered benefits, 51% were found to be piloting new solutions, while 49% adopted a partnership-focused approach relying on current vendors. Among employers not using AI in their benefits strategies, 61% reported exploring the possibility, while 39% stated they had no plans at all. The technology was found to be most frequently used in friction points such as communications, open enrollment support, and streamlining employee workflows.
