Facebook Gives Users Natural Language Control Over the Algorithm
Meta announced the rollout of a new AI-powered tool that allows users to shape their feeds and videos using their own words.
Meta has launched a new AI-powered feature on Facebook that allows users to influence the content they see in their feeds and videos using natural language.
New AI-Powered Feature
Meta has announced a new AI feature developed for Facebook that allows users to express their preferences using their own words. Previously implemented on Instagram, this tool enables users to directly guide their content feed.
Content Preferences with Natural Language
Instead of relying on traditional automated recommendations, users can directly communicate to the platform which topics they want to see more or less frequently. These preferences and adjustments are reflected in content recommendations in real time.
Updated Three-Dot Menu
The company has updated Facebook's three-dot menu so users can manage their content preferences directly through individual posts. Through this menu, users can access the relevant tool or indicate their level of interest.
Comprehensive Personalization Push
This new step reflects Meta's effort to give users more say over their social media experiences in the age of AI. Similar personalization tools were previously made available on Instagram and Threads.
