Following restoration works in the Darphane-i Âmire buildings located in the first courtyard of Topkapı Palace, 5 separate specialized museums have been established: Porcelain, Calligraphy, Imperial Arms, Mint and Industrial Tools, and Maps. These areas, housing more than 10,000 artifacts, will be opened on October 24 with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

As a result of the work carried out by National Palaces since 2019, 10,300 artifacts spanning from the 7th century to the 20th century are exhibited in the museums within the 17,000-square-meter area restored to its original architecture. The Porcelain Museum, consisting of 13 exhibition halls, houses 5,000 artifacts dating from the 13th to the 20th century, while the Calligraphy Museum displays 2,000 calligraphic works, and the Imperial Arms brings together 2,500 weapons, including the sword and armored shirt belonging to Fatih Sultan Mehmed, with visitors.

National Palaces Head Dr. Yasin Yıldız stated that with the launch of the new museums, visitors will be able to spend 6 hours more in Topkapı Palace. The museums will be open to general visitors starting from Sunday.
