A 15-year-old teenager living in Florida has been arrested for allegedly sending an AI-altered photo to authorities in an attempt to frame her ex-boyfriend for a school shooting threat.

Development of the Incident

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, authorities took action after receiving an email containing a screenshot of an Instagram post that threatened an attack at Riverview High School, located southeast of Tampa.

During the interview, the teenager confessed to sending the email while knowing that the image had been altered using artificial intelligence, and she is now facing charges.
