According to data released by the Ifo Institute, the expectations index rose from 90.4 to 91.6 in October. The indicator measuring current conditions recorded a slight decline. Ifo President Clemens Fuest stated that the economic recovery continues, but companies assess their current situations slightly more negatively.

Europe's largest economy is experiencing a strong period despite inflation caused by the Iran war and heatwaves affecting critical waterways. Infrastructure, defense, and artificial intelligence spending form the basis of growth, while the government raised its 2026 growth forecast to 1.3 percent. The Bundesbank estimates that output stagnated in the third quarter as hot weather lowered water levels in the Rhine River, disrupting industrial transport. While the German central bank anticipates noticeable growth in the last three months, S&P Global surveys revealed growth for the fourth consecutive month.
