Hanoi Chairman Vu Dai Thang announced that the city has embraced science, technology, and innovation as key growth drivers. Having made significant progress in digital transformation processes as of October 2026, Hanoi aims to increase economic efficiency through the simplification of administrative procedures and the standardization of databases.
At the conference on science, technology, and digital transformation held in Hanoi, the process of implementing the city's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW was evaluated. Out of a total of 865 tasks, 484 have been completed, while 381 tasks are ongoing and 3 are reported to be delayed. City management is focused on increasing resource utilization efficiency through data reviews and the elimination of task duplications.
Within the scope of digitalization efforts, the iHanoi application reached over 6.2 million verified accounts. While 99.1% of land data has been digitized, restructuring plans have been approved for 90.47% of administrative procedures. These reforms are expected to yield compliance cost savings of approximately 1.73 billion VND annually.
Evaluation: City management stated that the digital economy grew by over 11% in the first nine months of 2026, surpassing the overall GDP growth rate. Chairman Vu Dai Thang emphasized that for this success to be sustainable, the use of technology must be encouraged and innovative products must be commercialized.
