Health high school students in Gümüşhane prepare for their profession through practical training

Students in the Health Services field at Gümüşhane İbn-i Sina Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School are preparing for their profession by reinforcing their theoretical education through manikins in the practice classroom and internships at Gümüşhane State Hospital.

A total of 260 students studying in the Health Services field at Gümüşhane İbn-i Sina Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School reinforce the knowledge they acquire in theoretical lessons within the school's practice classroom and healthcare institutions. At the school, which began education in 1989, students receive training in basic health practices, first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and interventions tailored to different age groups. While basic health practices are learned on manikins in the vocational practice classroom, students intern at healthcare institutions across the city, primarily Gümüşhane State Hospital, in their 12th-grade year. Graduates gain employment opportunities in hospitals, public institutions, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers.

School Principal Kemal Şükrü Sevindik stated that students can use the practice classroom starting from the 9th grade, with training intensifying in the 11th and 12th grades. Sevindik expressed that students turn theoretical lessons into practice accompanied by branch supervisors and teachers, achieving significant equipment in terms of public health by developing themselves through internships. Student Seda Nur Kalaycı noted that thanks to practical training, what is learned is more permanent, and she aims to become a nurse after graduation. Ecrin Nisa Nas stated that they reinforce what they learn in theoretical lessons by trying it out on manikins in the practice classroom.
