Aydın Acar, who has been working at the Samsun Provincial Health Directorate for 38 years and works on a shift basis, stated that he chose to spend his spare time producing things instead of going to the coffeehouse. Engaged in wood and metal work for about 15 years, Acar carries out his work in the workshop he established on the roof of his detached house in Derecik Neighborhood, İlkadım district. He performs minor repair jobs in the basement of his house.

Emphasizing that he has no commercial purpose and that his aim is to have fun and recycle waste, Acar utilizes iron pieces he acquires from scrap yards as well as broken and unused pallet parts. Making agreements with junkyard owners to get metal parts from the scrap, Acar makes children's toys, seating, accessories, and garden decorations from these materials.

Acar stated that he also repairs broken items at home using his own means and gets support from the internet. Saying that the internet contains all kinds of information about renovation and repair, Acar noted that in points where he cannot manage, he consults with other masters, and this pursuit increases his quality of life.
