Güldal reported that they are carrying out efforts regarding the export of products in stocks due to the high harvest.
Explaining that wheat production reached approximately 25 million tons and barley production reached 10 million tons this year, Güldal stated that 2026 could be the year when the highest cereal harvest in the history of the Republic was realized. Sharing details regarding TMO's purchase figures, Güldal expressed that a total of 12.5 million tons of cereals were purchased this year, of which 9.7 million tons were wheat and 2.6 million tons were barley.
Conveying that the total cost of purchases including hazelnuts, raisins, lentils, and other products reached 218.3 billion liras, Güldal noted that 202 billion liras of this amount has been paid to producers. Stating that 767,860 appointments were given to 501,618 producers for a total of 15.5 million tons of products in 2026, Güldal emphasized that no appointment or storage problems were experienced during the procurement processes. Reporting that the sales prices effective as of October 1 are 18,500 liras for wheat and 14,000 liras for barley, Güldal conveyed that the sales process for 5.5 million tons of wheat continues as of October. He noted that a storage capacity of 20 million tons was prepared prior to the harvest, consisting of 15 million tons from licensed warehouses, approximately 4 million tons from TMO's own warehouses, and additional measures were taken for the remaining need. Güldal added that the financial equivalent of the products in TMO stocks reached 289 billion liras.
