The Separation Process and Disagreements

Ankur Patel and his 32-year-old wife separated about three months after having a child together, and the woman left the house in May. Pressured by family, she briefly returned home before leaving again, moving to another city and starting a new relationship.

The Meeting in Chicago and the Moment of the Murder

Patel lured his wife to his Chicago apartment under the pretext of showing her their daughter, while secretly sending the child to his family in India. Unable to find her daughter in the apartment and rejecting the reconciliation offer, the woman was stabbed in the neck after stating she would stay with her new partner.

Police Intervention and the Lifeless Body

When the woman did not return for a long time, her partner waiting outside notified the police, but the police initially left because he could not pinpoint the exact apartment. Following the murder, Patel went to O'Hare International Airport, but unable to find a ticket, he checked into a nearby hotel and changed his clothes. Buying a plane ticket the next day, the suspect was captured by police in an operation at the airport and sent to prison.
