Investigation launched into sharing of confidential documents in fund probe

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched a proprio motu judicial investigation following the public sharing of documents bearing a confidentiality label in the ongoing fund probe.

Scope of the Investigation

An important legal step has been taken within the framework of the fund investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Sharing of Confidential Documents

It was officially determined that documents bearing a confidentiality label regarding the content of the investigation were shared on certain digital platforms.

Instructions to Relevant Institutions

Instructions were transmitted to institutions such as the Capital Markets Board, Borsa İstanbul, the Central Registry Agency, and the Banks Association.

Basis for Legal Action

Since the breach of confidentiality constitutes a crime pursuant to the relevant article of the Turkish Penal Code, judicial proceedings have been initiated.
