Investigation Permission Granted for Former CMB President İbrahim Ömer Gönül
An official process has been initiated in line with the authorization requested by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the scope of the fund investigation.
Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek has granted permission for an investigation into former Capital Markets Board (CMB) President İbrahim Ömer Gönül, based on the preliminary investigation report prepared by the Inspection Board.
Rationale and Initiation of the Investigation Permission
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had requested permission for an investigation regarding former CMB President İbrahim Ömer Gönül within the scope of the ongoing fund investigation.
Following this official request, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek gave instructions for swift action to be taken.
Inspection Board Assignment and Report
Upon the instructions of Minister Mehmet Şimşek, the Inspection Board of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance was urgently assigned on October 2 to conduct a preliminary investigation.
As a result of these examinations, a preliminary investigation report was prepared by the Inspection Department and submitted to the Ministry.
Following the preparation of this report, it was reported that Minister Şimşek signed the investigation permission regarding the relevant former president.
