Kindergarten Teacher Files Lawsuit in Concord Claiming Artificial Intelligence Use
Christine Apollos, a kindergarten teacher with over twenty years of experience, has filed a lawsuit claiming that her termination report was written using artificial intelligence.
Christine Apollos, a kindergarten teacher at Thoreau Elementary School in Concord, filed a lawsuit on September 28 to have her 2025 termination decision overturned. Apollos claims that Principal Justin Sparks used artificial intelligence while preparing the termination recommendation report.
Christine Apollos, who has taught at Thoreau Elementary School for over 20 years, used an AI detection software called GPTZero during the arbitration process to support her claim.
The Concord-Carlisle School District and Principal Justin Sparks argue that only an AI-powered grammar checker was used in the report, and that the suspension decision was made following a series of poor performance evaluations.
