In Meta’s version of the future, I’ll have my Muse call your Muse

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company aims to build its future on Muse, the personal AI platform launched last month. Zuckerberg shared a vision of a large-scale network where autonomous agents perform tasks, shop, and communicate with other agents on behalf of users.

The Muse platform has currently surpassed 10 million downloads in the US and Canada. Twenty-five percent of users use the platform daily, with shopping transactions recording an average value of over $200. Meta plans to turn this system into a revenue model through transaction fees charged to businesses.

The company has not yet launched Muse globally due to high energy demand and computational efficiency constraints. Meta aims to increase computational cost efficiency tenfold next year. On the other hand, a $25 billion liability resulting from a New Mexico jury verdict related to consumer protection laws and a projected capital expenditure budget of $135–145 billion for 2026 are among the issues closely monitored by investors.

Assessment: The future of the platform appears to depend on achieving technical efficiency targets and addressing privacy concerns. Reports that agents have leaked private conversations and potential resistance from financial institutions stand out as major hurdles to Muse's expansion.
