Microsoft and Nvidia Collaborate to Optimize Windows for RTX Spark Laptops
Development is underway on the Arm-based RTX Spark platform for native AI and gaming performance focus in the Windows operating system.
Microsoft and Nvidia have announced comprehensive optimizations in the Windows operating system for the new RTX Spark laptops, which combine Arm-based architecture with Blackwell graphics processors.
San Francisco Launch
Microsoft and Nvidia introduced the new computing platform by hosting a joint launch event in San Francisco for the first wave of RTX Spark laptops.
Combining Arm-based architecture with powerful Blackwell GPUs and unified memory, this new system meets modern AI-driven needs.
AI and Agent Support
Designed for local artificial intelligence models and agents, the new platform allows users to set up assistants like Hermes, Perplexity, and OpenClaw with just a few clicks.
Microsoft has provided a streamlined onboarding experience in the operating system to ensure users can benefit from AI tools as efficiently as possible.
Prism Emulator and Memory
Microsoft stated that it has heavily optimized the Prism emulator, which translates x64-based applications to the new microarchitecture, for RTX Spark.
Additionally, special memory optimization work was carried out for the efficient management of the up to 128 GB of unified memory capacity featured in the system.
Gaming and Anti-Cheat Protection
Out-of-the-box anti-cheat protection support was provided for certain popular games on the Windows on Arm platform.
The support schedule for additional games, such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, PUBG, and Riot Games titles, is planned gradually through 2027.
Feature Delays and Hardware
The release of Recall, one of the Copilot Plus PC features, on RTX Spark devices has been delayed until the end of this year or next year.
At the event, Microsoft also announced other hardware and software innovations, such as the Xbox Nano controller and the third-generation Maia internal AI chip.
