Microsoft and consumer health company Opella have announced the development of a new artificial intelligence platform named 'Lumen' to verify the accuracy of content in the healthcare sector.

The Lumen platform consists of 14 specialized AI tools designed to check product claims, medical facts, sources, and regulatory disclosures. The system can determine where content should appear based on the content type and distribution channel. It also flags compliance statuses and areas requiring correction, enabling human experts to be involved in the approval process.

Opella Chief Growth Officer Alberto Hernandez stated that artificial intelligence has increased content production speed by 30 times. Emphasizing that speed must not take precedence over trust in the healthcare sector, Hernandez stated that Lumen helps experts make faster and more informed decisions while keeping final approval authority with human experts.
