The Brewers advanced to the finals by sweeping the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers, while the Rays advanced by eliminating the Cleveland Guardians.
The Milwaukee Brewers set a franchise record with 103 regular-season wins and are making their first World Series appearance since 1982 under manager Pat Murphy. The team features pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, who recorded a 1.80 ERA throughout the season, and relief pitcher Aaron Ashby, who contributed to the bullpen's performance. Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Rays are led by manager Kevin Cash, with starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen taking the mound for the opening game.
The matchup will begin at 8 PM Eastern Time and will be broadcast on Fox, as well as available for streaming on the Fubo platform. The Brewers used their week-long rest and preparation period to shape their pitching rotation.
