The Milwaukee Brewers secured their first World Series championship in the club's 56-year history. Winning the fifth game 4-1 on Wednesday in St. Petersburg to clinch the series, the Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays.

Under manager Pat Murphy, the Milwaukee Brewers concluded the 2026 season with a championship driven by a young roster and effective pitching performances. In Wednesday night's fifth game in St. Petersburg, Brewers starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski pitched 5.2 scoreless innings before having to exit due to a cramp in his right calf. Relief pitchers JoJo Romero, Abner Uribe, and Trevor Megill secured the final outs to seal the victory.

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen allowed one run in the fourth inning, while the Brewers' offense gained the upper hand against the opponent's bullpen with crucial hits from Cooper Pratt, Garrett Mitchell, and David Hamilton. Scoring a total of only 12 runs in the series, the Rays attempted to level the score in the final moments with a double by Hicks and Chandler Simpson in the ninth inning, but failed to close the gap. As a result of the series, the Brewers took the trophy home.
