Realized in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), and the Istanbul Ready-Made Garment and Apparel Exporters' Association (İHKİB), the İHKİB Innovation and Design Center was opened with a ceremony held in Bağcılar Mahmutbey.

Established on a 14,000-square-meter area in Bağcılar Mahmutbey, the center brings together the Istanbul Fashion Academy (İMA), the İHKİB Digital Transformation Center (DDM), EKOTEKS, and the İHKİB Academy under a single roof. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Kacır and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat attended the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat stated that 2026 is a year of recovery for the textile and apparel sectors. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Kacır emphasized that Turkey's primary priority is investment and production.

The EKOTEKS facility, located within the center and established in 1998 as İHKİB's first affiliate, is structured to provide services not only to the textile sector but also to many different sectors such as chemistry, toys, and plastics.
