Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, in statements made at the Russian Energy Week in Moscow and ceremonies at the Filyos Port, stated that Turkey continues its exploration activities and announced that new good news regarding oil production in Gabar could be given soon.

Domestic gas production in the Sakarya Gas Field, which reached 7.5 billion cubic meters annually in 2023, is planned to be quadrupled in line with the 2028 targets. While the fire on the flare tower for Turkey's first floating production platform, Osman Gazi, which was sent off from Filyos Port to its duty station in the Sakarya Gas Field, is targeted to be lit in December, it was stated that daily production will reach 20 million cubic meters in 2027 with the second phase.

The first reactor of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which is the world's largest nuclear site with 4 reactors being built simultaneously, is targeted to be commissioned within the next few months. Negotiations with Russian authorities are ongoing for the new nuclear power plants planned in Sinop and Thrace.

Stating that natural gas cooperation between Turkey and Russia is entering its 40th year, Minister Bayraktar emphasized that Russia has provided over 600 billion cubic meters of gas during this process, and that diesel agreements between the US and Russia are of critical importance for supply security. Drawing attention to the attacks that occurred during the World Petroleum Congress in Saudi Arabia, Bayraktar conveyed that energy meetings have become a target and the world has entered a new normal.
