The Ministry of Health has prepared a new draft foreseeing the addition of 22 diseases and disease groups, including Parkinson's, cancer-related pain, and cerebrovascular sequelae, which can be diagnosed and treated in facilities specialized in traditional medicine and rehabilitation, to the list.

New Draft Preparation

The Ministry of Health has prepared a new draft circular and submitted it to the views of relevant parties in order to expand the list of expert-level traditional medicine examinations and treatments.

In this study, which envisions amending certain articles of the current regulations, it is aimed to expand the jurisdictions of specialized health institutions.

Specialized Facilities

One of the most prominent innovations is the expansion of the scope of disease groups that can be treated in facilities specialized in traditional medicine and rehabilitation.

With the newly prepared list, it is aimed for patients to access more comprehensive traditional medicine services in specialized centers.

22 New Disease Groups

The proposed comprehensive list consists of a total of 22 diseases and disease groups covering the neurological, circulatory, digestive, subcutaneous, musculoskeletal, and urinary-genital systems.

With this list, the path will be paved for addressing disorders in many different medical branches using traditional medicine methods.

Neurological Conditions

Within the neurological diseases group, important conditions such as cerebral palsy, hemiplegia, paraplegia, and quadriplegia are included.

In addition, Parkinson's disease and paralysis or movement disorders resulting from cancer treatment will also be evaluated within this scope.

Circulatory System and Cancer Treatment

In the circulatory system group, sequelae of cerebrovascular diseases and varicose vein disorders of the lower extremities find a place.

The draft also includes skin damages related to cancer treatment, joint stiffness, connective tissue problems, and cancer-related pain in the list.

Various Health Issues

Other disorders included in the list are tuberculosis sequelae, hemorrhoids, liver fibrosis and cirrhosis, and spinal degenerations.

Additionally, conditions such as radiation-induced cystitis, prostatic hyperplasia, and unspecified dry mouth are also included in the draft text.

Referral and Monitoring Process

The draft regulation envisions the referral of patients whose treatments have stabilized to primary-level facilities for continuous monitoring and care.

Through this, it is aimed to carry out health services progressively and maintain patient tracking regularly.
