The Ministry of Health shared with the public the ongoing efforts and existing legal regulations regarding mechanism proposals aimed at encouraging long-term health insurance participants.

Voter Support Requests

Voters in Tay Ninh province requested an increase in health insurance rights, subsidization of treatment costs, and reduction of premiums. It was stated that these proposals would encourage long-term participation of people.

Existing Legal Regulations

The Ministry of Health stated that there are already statutory rights for those who have been insured continuously for five years or more. Accordingly, the treatment costs of individuals whose copayments exceed a certain amount are entirely covered by the fund.

Application Example and Conditions

Patients who have been insured for over five years and whose copayments exceed the six-month amount of the basic salary are not required to make additional payments for subsequent treatments within the year. However, non-covered expenses are excluded from this practice.

Fund Balance and Interinstitutional Coordination

While emphasizing that health insurance is based on the principle of risk sharing, it was noted that when evaluating new support policies, the state budget and the balancing capacity of the fund are taken into consideration.
