Firefox’s Smart Window adds AI form filling and webpage monitoring

Mozilla has added a new feature to Smart Window, its AI-powered browser experience, which allows users to automatically fill out online forms by leveraging information from their open tabs. Powered by Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite model, this system also offers the ability to track updates on specific web pages.

The new form-filling feature is activated via the 'Fill from sources' option in forms containing at least four text fields. Users can select which tabs the browser should pull data from. Currently supporting text fields, the system is planned to become compatible with PDF files and dropdown menus in the future. Data is shared with Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite model during the suggestion generation process.

The web page monitoring tool is initiated by typing the '/watch' command into the Smart Window chat screen. The browser checks designated pages daily or weekly, notifying users of changes such as sales or new job postings. The monitoring process pauses after 60 days if no changes are detected and is terminated completely after 90 days. These features are currently available to desktop beta users in the US and Canada.
