New allegations and legal process regarding social media phenomenon Cem Özkök

Social media phenomenon Cem Özkök, known for his cleaning videos, came to the fore on the YouTube program titled 'We Need to Talk About This' hosted by Hilal Özcan and Hakan İrtem. On the program, it was claimed that Özkök's real name is Cemre, that he took part in various media projects in the past, and that his meticulous image on social media does not reflect the truth. On the other hand, it was shared that Özkök was penalized with an administrative fine of 550,059 liras by the Advertising Board on June 11, 2024, on the grounds that he did not use an advertising label in the promotion of a product belonging to his own brand.

Hilal Özcan, who stated on the program that she was a schoolmate of Özkök, claimed that the phenomenon worked in press and brand consultancy in the past and took part in various television projects, but these attempts were unsuccessful. The presenters also criticized Özkök for sharing moments of worship as content.

Özkök's name was also associated with the judicial process regarding Yasin Oyanık, known as the 'Ankara Brother'. While allegations about illegal money traffic spread on social media, Özkök's lawyer Hamza Bağırsakcı announced that there is no lawsuit filed or ongoing investigation against his client. Bağırsakcı stated that criminal complaints have been filed against the accounts spreading the allegations.
