The impact of social media and artificial intelligence on school violence
Expert Nguyen Dinh Son states that artificial intelligence and social media have transformed school violence into cyberbullying, calling for early intervention based on psychological roots.
Nguyen Dinh Son, an adolescent psychology expert from the Hanoi Association of Educational Psychology, stated that social media and artificial intelligence have shifted school violence into cyberbullying, explaining that the solution is not merely punitive measures but the development of conflict resolution skills.
Incidents such as attacks on teachers at Mac Dinh Chi High School in Hanoi and a fight in Hai Phong that resulted in the death of a student have increased the need for a safe educational environment. Expert Son stated that social media and artificial intelligence create new risks such as insults, exclusion, and identity impersonation, noting that this situation deepens students' psychological trauma and reflects as violence in real life. It was argued that schools should establish mechanisms for students to make their voices heard, teachers should be able to identify risks early, and families should be involved in the process.
