Central Referee Board Elite Referee Director Anthony Taylor announced that instructions regarding the use of insulting language have been updated following reviews made after the match between Amedspor and Beşiktaş.

Rule Explanation from MHK

Central Referee Board Elite Referee Director Anthony Taylor shared the new rule instruction with the public after reviewing the controversial incidents of the Amedspor-Beşiktaş match.

In the official statement made, it was stated that disciplinary practices on the field were reorganized taking international standards into account.

New Decision for English Expressions

According to the new regulation, the English reaction "f... off" directed at the referee after receiving a yellow card during the match will now be considered a severe insult.

It was stated that this expression, which was previously handled differently in some cases, will be directly evaluated in the same category as personal insults such as "f... you".

Will Require a Direct Red Card

In the evaluation made by the MHK, it was clarified that such expressions will be considered disrespectful, insulting, and aggressive behavior.

It was emphasized that if players or coaches utter such curse words and insults directed at the referee, they will be punished with a direct red card.

Addressed at the Seminar

It was conveyed that upon the realization that instructions from past years needed to be reviewed, this issue was addressed at the elite referee seminar during the international match period.

As a result of the updates made, it was noted that the instructions to be given to Turkish referees were reshaped and ambiguities in rule application were resolved.
