Official pilgrim app launched for World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul
The official mobile app has been launched to assist young Catholics participating in the gathering in South Korea with their travel and event preparations.
The Local Organizing Committee for World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul has released the official pilgrim app to facilitate preparation processes and provide guidance for international participants.
Purpose of the App
The Seoul World Youth Day 2027 Local Organizing Committee, led by Archbishop Peter Chung Soon-taick, took this step to ensure young people can prepare in the best possible way for the international gathering.
The mobile app launched by the committee brings together practical, spiritual, and pilgrimage information that participants may need before their trip to Korea and during their stay under a single roof.
Language Options and Naming
Temporarily named 'WYD 2027', the app is available for download in Korean and English on the Apple App Store and Google Play platforms.
Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Italian will be added in the future, and the permanent name of the app will be determined through a global contest.
Travel and Practical Information
The preparation section of the app features a wide range of content, including pilgrim kits, spiritual preparations, travel arrangements, and package information.
Additionally, it offers detailed guidance on weather conditions in July and August, emergency alerts, plug types, and daily life rules in Korea.
Visits to Holy Sites
In a separate pilgrimage section, the Catholic Seoul Pilgrimage Route, prayers for visiting holy sites, and a museum program are introduced to participants.
Pilgrims who visit the specified three points and verify their visits through the app are awarded a completion certificate.
