On-pitch incidents after Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby on PFDK agenda
Archie Brown and Abdülkerim Bardakcı received red cards due to pitch incidents following the derby played at RAMS Park. The potential punishments for the players, who are expected to be referred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board, are being discussed.
Following the tensions on the pitch after Galatasaray's 2-1 victory over Fenerbahçe in the Süper Lig, Archie Brown and Abdülkerim Bardakcı were sent off with red cards.
With the final whistle of the match played at RAMS Park, tension arose between the players and coaching staffs of the two teams. While the argument between Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Roland Sallai resulted in a yellow card, the physical intervention between Archie Brown and Abdülkerim Bardakcı was penalized with a red card by the referee.
Making post-match statements, Abdülkerim Bardakcı stated that the footage should be examined and argued that the initial intervention came from the opposing side. Archie Brown, on the other hand, stated that he reacted to Abdülkerim Bardakcı's action towards his teammate Guendouzi.
Evaluation: If the players are referred to the PFDK, they are expected to receive a suspension ranging from 5 to 10 matches if their actions are classified as an 'attack', or 3 to 5 matches if evaluated as a 'fight'.
