Propaganda Dispute Between La Liga President Javier Tebas and the High Council for Sports
La Liga President Javier Tebas engaged in a tense social media exchange with Jose Manuel Rodriguez Uribes, President of the Spanish High Council for Sports, who demanded an apology after Tebas compared Real Madrid's communication methods to Nazi propaganda.
La Liga President Javier Tebas has not backed down in the controversy that erupted after he compared Real Madrid TV's broadcasting policies to the methods of Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels. Responding to the apology demand from Jose Manuel Rodriguez Uribes, President of the Spanish High Council for Sports, Tebas argued that his criticism focused solely on propaganda techniques.
In a statement on the X platform, Tebas clarified that the Goebbels reference was not aimed at Nazi ideology or Real Madrid fans, but was intended only to analyze communication strategies. Offering examples of similar comparisons used in the past by political officials and the media to defend his stance, Tebas criticized Uribes' call for an apology.
In his post directed at Uribes, Tebas stated, "What a coincidence that you and Mourinho bring up the issue of an apology at the same time, isn't it? This could only be related to superior telepathy." It was observed that Tebas, who kept his controversial post live for more than an hour, later deleted the message from his account.
