TSB'den sigorta ve BES'e ilişkin dezenformasyon açıklaması

Ahmet Yaşar, President of the Insurance Association of Turkey (TSB), made a statement regarding disinformation-type claims circulating about the insurance sector and the private pension system.

Ahmet Yaşar, President of the Insurance Association of Turkey (TSB), touched upon posts and statements in recent days that have caused disinformation in the public regarding the insurance sector and the private pension system (BES). Stating that developments regarding the shareholders of certain insurance companies should not be directly associated with the financial structures, insurance activities, and obligations of the companies toward their insured, Yaşar drew attention to the importance of evaluating these issues within the framework of relevant legislation and the oversight of the regulatory and supervisory authority.

Yaşar emphasized that the claims regarding three insurance companies going bankrupt due to flood damages are completely groundless, noting that they do not accept attempts to undermine the trust of citizens through such statements. Stating that the private pension system carries the savings of millions of citizens into the future through strong oversight and audit mechanisms, Yaşar conveyed his get-well-soon wishes to citizens affected by floods and inundations. Stating that the sector is in the field with its agents, adjusters, and all stakeholders, Yaşar conveyed that their priority is the rapid assessment of damages and the compensation of losses within the scope of the policy in the shortest time possible.

Stating that shaking confidence in insurance and BES with groundless claims harms the country's economic resilience, Yaşar noted that trying to weaken confidence in insurance is a national security risk. It was stated that TSB will continue to work in coordination with the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK).
