Health tourism data for the first six months of 2026 in Turkey has been released. During this period, a total of 563,327 health tourists were hosted, and approximately 1.58 billion dollars in revenue was generated from the sector. Despite the decline in the number of patients, the average revenue per patient rose from the 2,200 dollar level in 2025 to 2,600 dollars.

Elif Ural, Chief Advisor to the President of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), stated that there was a decrease in revenues during the summer months and emphasized that the last quarter of the year would be decisive for the sector. Expressing that Antalya hosting the COP31 summit presents an important opportunity for health tourism, Ural pointed out that the rate of foreign patients in dental clinics in the city has reached 90 percent levels.

Diversity stands out in the sector's future planning. As of 2027, it is aimed to focus on rehabilitation and 'longevity', meaning healthy and long life areas, in addition to medical tourism.
