Social Media and Screen Addiction Talk for Youth in Afyonkarahisar

During the talk titled "Our Search for Meaning in the Age of Speed and Pleasure," organized by the Afyonkarahisar Provincial Mufti's Office at the Diyanet Youth Center, the conscious use of digital tools and screen addiction were discussed.

The Afyonkarahisar Provincial Mufti's Office held a talk titled "Our Search for Meaning in the Age of Speed and Pleasure" at the Diyanet Youth Center to contribute to the personal development of youth. Participating as guest speakers, Psychiatrist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Üzer and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ekrem Furkan Uçak explained the effects of speed- and pleasure-oriented living on human behavior, evaluating the reflections of social media use and long screen times on the brain's reward mechanism.

Drawing attention to the necessity of using digital tools in a balanced and conscious manner instead of completely distancing oneself from technology, the experts emphasized the importance of individuals preserving their own values and continuing their search for meaning in life in the modern world. The program concluded with the answering of participants' questions and the presentation of gifts to the speakers by Afyonkarahisar Deputy Provincial Mufti Sinan Cansever and calligraphy and marbling instructor Ömer Faruk Barış.
