Manchester United manager Michael Carrick made statements regarding his future at the club and the team's situation after their 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth.
Expressing deep sorrow over the difficult period Manchester United is going through, Carrick said, "It's really difficult for me to experience a day like this at this football club and to feel the emotions brought on by today's events. I have been at this club for a long time and I feel a great responsibility in the position I am in."
When asked whether he had discussed his future with the board, Carrick stated that he had no idea how the situation would unfold, replying, "There's no way of hiding from it. But I will always do what's best for this football club. I am aware of the responsibility, but we'll wait and see." He added that his gesture of greeting the fans after the match was not a farewell.
The manager also supported young defender Leny Yoro, who made a mistake during the match, assessing, "What Leny experienced was unfortunate. He has a bright future ahead of him. He made a mistake today and he feels the weight of that on his shoulders, but he shouldn't.
